    100. Curling Hair With Rollers
Replaced by: Electric curlers, heat technology
Cause: Faster, more efficient methods became available

Curling hair has always been popular, but back in the day the only way to do it was to use rollers or other heatless methods. Boomers would use rags or other ways to get a particular curl, or old-fashioned heated tongs which were warmed by the fire – and incredibly risky to use.
How old do they think Boomers are?

I remember going to bed as a kid with rollers so that my hair would be curly in the morning but rags and heated tongs????

Got my first blow dryer in Jr high and my first curling iron in high school.

Read about 30 of them then strolled to 200th.

I have changed in many of them.

No post cards sent, no special China, no landline for about 15 years. No cable for about 10 years, stream everything. Don't do cruises, don't play golf or watch it. Still like my steak rare. Never wore cufflinks much.

Didn't see VCR's in there or I strolled over it. The haircut thing, think last one was around 2008, last full shave probably around that sametime. Guess I fell into that online shopping hack statistic. Didn't see any faith items.

The writing n cursive got me. If I were a teacher, I'd require my students to write in cursive. I mean! Have they dumbed down the kids that much!?

I usually type on the computer but I can write in cursive if I want to write in cursive. In two languages with two different sets of characters. Hebrew and English. But that isn't unusual here in Israel.

I never realized there was cursive Hebrew.

Rags made a comeback when I was in high school. The trick was letting your hair dry 90%, then wrapping it up in ripped up bedsheets to sleep. This was the time frilly blouses and prairie skirts were in the early 80s. I loved that look!
