Similar to driving on the ocean beaches. Yet, every summer I'm doing touchup, undercoating etc just to slow the destruction.

In September, we traded my '07 Dodge Nitro on a '16 Jeep Cherokee Overlander. It had 132,000 km (82,000 miles) and we thought that was good for the age of it. It's white with a tan interior and bells and whistles I didn't even know existed. Handles amazing!!! And was terrific in the snow.
That is good mileage for living out west especially where it's a greater distance between towns for whatever you need. Grand's are nice!

Our little 4.5yo grandson was so excited! Already a Jeep guy at that age except Jeep Cherokee was too complicated for him to say so it's our Jeep Jerky....

You guys are talking about salted roads.... We use very little salt out here on the prairies so our vehicles don't rust too bad at all. They do eventually, but it takes years.

When moving to Scottsdale the first thing I noticed was all the old cars. Here in Michigan we have new cars. Isn't that the American way?

For sure, there are a lot of older cars on the road down here. Also a lot of faded paint and cracked dashboards, the sun can wreak havoc on car bodies. I don't think the Japanese have figured out the paint chemistry for hot climates yet. I've also seen near new cars with cracked clear coat.

Nissan seems to be the worst in that area.
