Ice storm aftermath. Power out, generator on. Furnace blower motor kaput. Fridge kaput. We really had a surge on the line! Thankfully everything else seems to be working. We have gas fireplaces so we are able to heat the house. It's supposed to be high 40s by the end of the day!

We're in a deep freeze this week. Wind chills of -40 and colder.

It was pretty bad with many still without power. They said it was the worst ice storm in the last 50 years with half a million without power just in the Metro Detroit area. Thankfully except for a couple of blinks my power stayed on.

Just saw this update. Even though the storm happened on Wednesday most are still without power. It wasn't just falling trees and branches, the weight of the ice itself on the electrical wires caused many to fall.

A beautiful sunny day with highs in the mid 50s.

Another winter storm overnight. This one dropped 3 - 4 inches of snow here but other areas got double that much with more power outages.
