    Funny Encounters While Witnessing

Decided to start this thread about funny or strange things that occur or are said while sharing the gospel

Last night a friend was sharing with a lady who heard the gospel in church as a child but not living the faith as a adult.
She said ...'I love the story how Jesus did the miracle of feeding the 5 million'

A few weeks back I was speaking with an older man who was concerned about Covid-19 and was praying to God to stop the disease.
It sounded good at first then he said ....'I also pray to Lucifer to cure Covid-19 but many people who read the Bible misunderstand him'

I've encountered people who pray to or in some way relate to every major religion's God because they can't figure out which one is the real one. Satan wouldn't be one of them, that doesn't make any sense.

My craziest discussion ever must be the one that occurred with the high level Satanic priestess who decided to pretend that she was now a believer, just to see what happened. Noone believed her but she did try.

The Westerner Krishna worshipper who praised his mother the cow was also quite entertaining.

I was preaching at a local church this past Sunday. Had my phone in my shirt pocket, and turned on "Vibrate only".

I never felt it ring, but I did hear a woman's voice coming out of my shirt pocket. She said, "What am I, and athiest then?" or something to that effect.

The number showed up as our local village gas station, where I had been trying to straighten out an overcharge of $52 on my last gas purchase the day before.

Stopped by there on the way home and no one would admit to having called me. The manager did seem kind of grumpy though!

I still don't know how the phone was answered in my pocket. Maybe the Lord was planting a seed of some sort.

That sounds like you somehow got your phone to call them, which would explain their surprise at hearing your sermon when they received the phone call.

I was witnessing on the beach and walked up to a man sitting on blanket with his small child. "What's your daughter's name?" I asked. "Craig," he said. It was a boy with long hair. The dad wasn't very receptive.

That cracked me up to read it.

Kinda funny, kinda odd....when sharing the Gospel with a young couple that came into our food ministry some years back. They listened quite attentively, both had a strong odor of marijuana. Suddenly, the man erupted yelling, "WOW!! WOW!! There is POWER in here!!", he was waving his arms and hollering so loudly I thought maybe he would scare some away but then it occurred to me that it was a strong witness for others to see this. It was and we workers later had a good laugh over it. We had many signs and wonders in those days.

Nah, I would have to have them in my phone for that to happen.

Maybe they called you earlier and then you called that number back ? It's weird that they called you on a Sunday and then you answered with your phone in the pocket.

Yeah, totally weird. Not sure how I would have even answered it in my front shirt pocket. Never felt it vibrate, just suddenly heard the voice.
