When a plan of God comes together.

(Hopefully this isn't too long, but it's wonderful what our heavenly Father does for his kids.)

Recently I withdrew my membership from my church after 47 years. I'd put off doing it formally but as I had agreed to assist with a wedding for the church I had to check if that would still happen. I sent letters to five leaders, two of whom I'd worked beside for several years.

It was over a month before anyone acknowledged my letters. Our care team leader, D, e-mailed me and asked if I wanted to chat, no problem, but it turns out she's busy for the next few days with her new state role with Chaplaincy Australia and a funeral.

I rarely work Thursday but I did today and top of the list was a burial for "Aunty Gwen". Aunty Gwen seemed old when we were in youth 45 years ago. Sadly she's had dementia for several years. I check and D is not doing her funeral but is doing one next Tuesday for the father of K, a chaplain I've also worked with but is no longer living locally.

A quick check and staff haven't been allocated for Tuesday yet so "Do you want to work Tuesday?", "Yep", all sorted out.

So because I needed to say I was leaving my church; then a delay on anyone responding; then my working today; then Aunty Gwen's burial being today; when K comes to her dad's funeral on Tuesday I'll be there to offer my condolences and to let her know I'll look after her dad for her, something I've found helps people at such a time.

So many little things that God brought together because he loves K. Gotta love Him don't ya.

Forty-seven years with the same church. That's quite a long run. Bravo!
