Depends on my mood - I do normal typing which i learned in high school....but if I don't feel like gibber jabbin - I hunt and peck!
I type fast and since I am a CPA - I can run the numbers pad faster than the old computers could keep up with - this new one is pretty fast......I can't outrun it yet

That's good TT. I do one word a minute on a good day when I can see the key board.

We had 2 electric typewriters, and the rest were manual. I was so proud when my typing was fast enough to get to use the electric.
Can we say nerd?!

I had the typing class in high school - my dad made me take it - said you can always be a typist if nothing else. Then in college I took business machines and learned to run calculators and other business machines (10 keys, etc.)....the school now has it mandatory for all accounting majors...bad thing is when I went to school computers were still a dream and only women were encouraged to take typing. Now everyone needs to take it. My husband won't text because of the typing...

my 2nd son is taking a typing class, but it's all on the computer now. I think they call it "computer skills" but I don't think they're as hard core about typing as the classes we had.

I could type 70-80 words per minute on my Smith-Corona back in the day. I used to have a secretary when I was teaching that could type 110 words per minute. She was highly skilled and entered contests and won many and a few extra bucks.

ok...just because I AM that nerdy I found this site where you can figure out your typing speed, and you can also compete against others. I discovered that I can only type 79 wpm....some of those people on the site can FLY!

212 words per minute - Barbara Blackburn is the fastest English typist in the world, according the Guinness Book of World Records. She managed to type at 150 words a minute for 50 minutes, and peaked at 212 words a minute. She even showed off her talents on 'The David Letterman Show' in 1985. She died in 2008.Photo by Eduardo Parra/Getty Images
