Wuhan virus or not the cheap labor cycle is just that, a cycle, it's never permanent. In the 70's it was Japan who provided cheap labor but in doing so the demand created higher wages and labor costs in Japan which ended that cycle. Labor and manufacturing then went to China, we are now doing price discovery on the true costs of that move.

My guess is that the next manufacturing move will be less concentrated in one country. Perhaps but doubtful that manufacturing will return here to the US in any meaningful way unless tax and regulatory incentives are implemented. The Chinese capture of our regulatory system has been pretty significant, they have through ownership of our legislators been able to regulate US business to the point of creating a very hostile environment for capital investment here.

Definitely. One of the (many) reasons I try to avoid flying if at all possible. My Dad flew around the world for his job (in coach) and in his later years always needed about a week to get his health back after returning.

They (Most major carriers)have greatly improved their air filtering system. If you go on one of their websites, they give a description of it. It does seem the air on the plane has improved. They give out free anti bacterial wipes for your seats upon request.

They've also cut out beverage services which I noticed cuts down on people getting up for the restroom.
They've cut out food service in business and only serve a beverage if the flight is over 2hrs (I believe).

It will be interesting to see what changes are made for intl travel.
