Thread: The Hypocrisy of social distancing rules

We are doing our part to support local business. We have several towns near us, some 15mi drive. This is not big city, it is a very popular and lovely resort and recreation destination. We eat at the restaurants that are privately owned, not the big name places. Oh and forget buying Chinese products. They have made their bed and will sleep in it.

I've been trying to boycott Chinese made products for a few years now. Sometimes it's almost unavoidable, so many companies have moved their production, but I try.

Look at all the businesses that are said to be going broke. They'd never made enough profit to be able to ride out the storm.
These corporations are getting massive government bailouts (which they should get, since
their loss of business is attributable to a government mandate), so they ought to observe the
same social distancing rules that other businesses adhere to.

But when you catch the disease, it is not only you who suffers; it is those who live and work with you, and the doctors and nurses who treat you.

Nah. Those infected don't automatically infect others.

Most Americans (and citizens of other economically advanced nations) will continue to buy products made by exploited workers in nations such as China and Bangladesh, simply because the prices of such products are lower.

Corporations move production overseas because they know that Americans talk a lot about "buying American" but rarely follow through.

There it is. Most manufacturing is offshore in China, Vietnam, India because Americans would rather buy a $5 T-shirt from there, not the $30 T-shirt that's made in America.
