I'm really not used to sitting at home like this. I could probably fix more things around the apartment but I'm not supposed to go to the hardware store. I could only partially repair the ceiling lamp I hung today because of a broken socket. And I need about a dozen LED bulbs for the one I wanted to hang tomorrow. The inconvenience of being housebound is really getting old. Fortunately, I still like my wife because she is stuck here with me. I think she likes me too. And while I only have one office in the home, her three are not directly connected to mine. She has the sofa office, the dining room table office and the bedroom office. She has an internet connection at each office, a desk in two of them and comfortable seating for herself and her staff. (The staff live in her computer talk to her from there
    somehow.)

No curfews that I know of but many cities have declared a state of emergency.

Hoarding: absolutely. TP, paper towels, tissues, wipes of any kind, flour, baking essentials like yeast, cleaning supplies, diapers, canned goods...our smaller city is still doing ok but larger cities are really in bad shape.
AJ: Can I ask about the medical situation where you live? Here in New Jersey, all
non-emergency medical and dental appointments are being cancelled. Is a similar
    thing happening in Alberta?

In Ontario (my adult kids live there), everything is shut down except essential services. The Bruce Trail is closed - a 250-mile hiking trail that runs from Niagara Falls to Tobermory. All biking trails are shut down, parks and playgrounds. There is talk of fines for people not social distancing themselves when they are out.

Unemployment for hourly/casual/part time workers is a big threat. My daughter has lost her job and is scrambling for work right now. It's very difficult for her as she lives in a small town and all restaurants are closed, and businesses are closing permanently. My son's fiance is an ER nurse in Oakville, Ontario. Toronto and Mississauga hospitals are maxed out, she says, but her hospital is still managing. It could be that COVID19 cases are being sent to nearby Toronto. My son's job is safe.

Gas prices are at an all time low, but no one can go anywhere.

It's like every area, at least in the West, is preparing us for and at the same time trying to avert a 100-scenario (see my scale elsewhere). That's where 3 out of 4 deaths are from corona. It doesn't mean that that will ever happen. If it doesn't happen then it boils down to a drill, preparing populations for possible future scenarios.

As far as I know, non emergency surgery and dental are postponed till after... I think we're petty similar to the US with some variations from province to province, even city to city.

Can't remember if I posted this... but our 2sons have been laid off till at least the end of May. Rog is still working (he checks oil wells and keeps them running) as is our son in law (agriculture equipment). Spring is really late here with a foot of snow yet to melt and because of a terrible fall harvest season, some farmers still will try to combine the crops that got left in the fields before they can plant.... it's an ugly spring. We got 6-8" of snow on March 30-31 and the temps have been in the -20s with -30wind chills on a April 1-2.

We also have a grandchild due by C-section the last week of April. Don't know when we'll get to see the little guy and they only live 45 min away.

Wow. Has this been widely publicized and are most Canadians aware of this? Or does the media cover things up for him?

He's paid the media a large amount of money to cover his A$$.

The west knows. But the people who voted liberal in central (Ontario, particularly the GTA, & Quebec) and eastern Atlantic provinces in CANADA, refuse to listen or acknowledge what he's doing. That's why he got in for a second term.

That resembles the story in many of the deeply affected countries, policies have often gone from one extreme to the other. It's a new situation so it's understandable.
