I've already seen some major displays in people's front yards and on their porches along with pumpkins galore. So do you usually do anything special this month? Carve a pumpkin? String some lights? Anything?

I don't do 'scary' or haunting..
We won't decorate at all where we are now..no kids come. But we are having a trunk a treat at church..I have a giant Pooh bear and he will be holding a 'honey' jar full of candy. I crocheted a bee hive to hang over his head and if my beekeeping jacket comes in I will wear that..
I have no problem with FALL season décor like pumpkins, scarecrows and bales of hay..

I love to see fall decor! I'm not a decoration person much any time. I like Quest's Trunk or Treat idea.
My sis usually does some straw or hay and some pumpkins. One year she looked out the window of the front door and a moose was eating her pumpkins!
No decorating.
Sometimes we carved a couple of pumpkins with the kids or grandkids
A few years my son wore baggy clothes and we stuffed them with leaves. He wore a hat and a cloth over his face like a scarecrow. Then he sat limply on a chair out in the yard, holding a big bowl of candy. I would let him know the ages of the kids, and parents approaching. Then he would move a little when the kids would reach for the candy. Sometimes just a little to make them wonder, or more to freak them out or scare them. Little ones never seemed bothered at all, teens were scared the most.
We've never done the creepy, gory or death themed decorating.
