But the trash goes in the ocean, doesn't it? What about all those turtles with straws and forks stuck in their faces and the whales with bellies full of trash??? I don't think that using styrofoam is a good alternative at all... or plastic utensils. Dollar Store or not.
It doesn't take a lot of water to hand wash a few dishes. Using the dishwasher or letting the water run as you wash? Yes. But you can be very frugal using water to hand wash. Ever gone camping? It's amazing what can be done with very little water. Personally, using disposable for every meal is ludicrous and that's coming from someone who HATES washing dishes.
Maybe take one less shower a week and wash the dishes.

I believe our trash goes into a landfill. It may be burnt too (I'm not 100% sure) but I don't think ours goes into the ocean. There would be such an uprising if that happened lol. Many establishments were giving customers those awful paper straws. I hate them.
California is building desalting plants so we can start using ocean water. They're already using it in San Diego

I can't imagine snowflake Cali allowing garbage to be burned unless they have some kind of super emissions compressor technology.
I still think it's ********wasteful to use styrofoam, paper and plastic instead of washing dishes.
Maybe I should tell you how I really feel???

California has a recycling crisis. The only way to solve it is to stop making so much trash

Environmentally minded Californians love to recycle — but it's no longer doing any good

Hey Sis.
Remember how you said we shouldn't make our opposition to another person's opinion or actions sound like we think they are morons?
Just sayin'

Right, I try to lessen waste too. I can't imagine throwing away that much plastic every day.
