    If you look anything like your avatar its understandable why they call you that. ;)

    It doesn't bother me. I don't use it myself. However,I go with the flow

    It's very ingrained in some church cultures, ethnic cultures and regions.

    I'm used to "hunny" "chile" "hunny child", "sweetie" , dahling" "bruh" "brother man" and more lol

    That's biblical Nikos, don't you wanna be old and full of sap? ;)

    Psalm 92:14
    They will still [a]yield fruit in old age;
    They shall be [b]full of sap and very green

    Yes, but who's green? There are a lot of sappy people in the church.

    My girlfriend and I were talking about this on our walk last night. She has an old staff person who calls her "dear." Then her male neighbor (Middle Eastern) calls her sweetheart. Both at the same time we said "Habibi!" I used to work for a Lebanese buyer who would call me Habibi a lot. Definitely a cultural thing in that culture. Habibi translates to dear or sweetheart.

    Strangers? Never. I'm always a little concerned that it would be taken as demeaning.

    Friends and loved ones? All the time.
