People down here say "Cut the light out, when you leave the room, please" -

    "CUT"

Verb: Make an opening, incision, or wound in (something) with a sharp-edged tool or object - remove (something) from something larger by using a sharp implement - make or form (something) by using a sharp tool to remove material.
We sometimes say kill the light, kill the cake, etc.

They say “fixin to” a lot. That means “I’m getting ready”

When I’m in south Louisiana, I almost need an interpreter to understand these Cajuns

We say pop and soft drinks, or just drink.

Iced tea is ALWAYS sweet and most often flavored with lemon, but can be purchased with other flavors like raspberry and peach.

A knitted cap is always a toque. A toboggan is the thing you slide down the hill on.

Poutine is fries and gravy with mozza cheese.

A grocery cart is just that, a cart.

Bags that you put your purchased items in is just that, a bag and it sucks that more and more stores are making you pay for them.
I take in my own bags whenever I can... I've also noticed that if you only buy 1-2-3 items, you may not even be offered a bag anymore.
