And his teaching on 'Jesus is NOT in heaven praying for you' (at least the way it is taught) really brings an understanding to 'Jesus our intercessor' that most Christians don't have. I taught a version of that for years before I read his book. He takes it from a different angle than I did, but it really added to it. Good stuff. Being an intercessor in the sense that Jesus is our intercessor and intercessory prayer are NOT the same thing.

And the chapter on 'Re-presenting Jesus' is also really good. He is the manufacturer, we are the distributors. We are not called to manufacture or produce anything. Only called to be the distributors.

..........so, I was on AMAZON getting ready to order INTERCESSORY PRAYER and thought that I'd better check my own bookshelves... and sure enough, there was a copy with my daughter's name in it and 1999. So it's been sitting here awhile.

I'll start reading it tonight if I have any energy to concentrate.

I think it was just published in '96, so it was bought not too long after it came out.

'Intercessory Prayer' is the only book I've ever read by him. I had the book for years, somebody gave it to me in a pile of books I think, but never read it. One night I saw him on God TV, and it was so good I said to myself I'm gonna go take a look at that book and I read it. The God TV program of wherever he was preaching, he tells this awesome story of visiting a woman in a coma for a year and praying for her and God finally raising her up. It was in the book too.

Oh yeah, I just remembered a story connected with that. To make it short, there would be other people in the room with her that would come and go. Others with illness or whatever I mean. He was in there praying for the usual woman, and he said there was a radio in there playing softly, I think he said a pop station or something. Totally secular. There was another woman in a coma in there with her, and I can't remember exactly, but basically the Lord told him to pray for her for salvation. I'm not sure if he led her in a prayer even though she was in a coma, or just prayed for her salvation, but he said he prayed over her, and the moment he said the last word of the prayer of salvation for her, Amazing Grace on bagpipes started playing on that secular radio station. Awesome story.

I don't think that was in the book. I heard him tell that on the video when he told the other story.

He tells the story at the beginning of this video. Volume is a little low.
