"reformed" and "calvinist" are pretty much synonymous.. there are differences and some subgroups though.
It comes to a basic difference in how we view the sovereignty of God.
Reformed folks are monergistic instead of synergistic.
there are other differences, but that's the main one.
So wheeze, does that mean that your son no longer sees a need to be fervent about evangelism since he believes in monergism, God sovereignly electing and regenerating apart from any choice that we have made ?

not sure where you got the idea monergists don't think evangelism is important. Quite the opposite.

I wasn't commenting on the theology as a whole. I was merely asking wheeze a question about his son since his son seems negative about what he is doing and about charismaticism in general.

Monergists may or may not relate indifferently/negatively to what I asked about (evangelism, charismaticism, healing miracles). It doesn't really matter what I think of monergism, I'm more interested in how wheeze's son interprets or applies it. If that is what he believes.
