    Wink Still learning about Americans...

I first started talking to Americans on the Internet in about 1997. I visited the US in 2002, 2006, and 2008 (gosh, has it been ten years already!?).

I know that chips are not hot, and I know that biscuits can come with chicken.

I know that phrases such as "where's the cheese at?" and "my bad" seem to be acceptable.

I know that you drive on the right (wrong) side of the road and have a fear of roundabouts but a fondness for stop signs.

Yesterday I finally discovered what "bangs" are. Oh my goodness it's just a fringe!? You have *a* fringe! How can you call it "bangs" !? What!? Honestly for all these years I knew it was somehow hair related but had never been able to figure out what it actually meant

Thought you guys would be amused by my discovery

We are certainly a rebellious bunch of colonies. If you ever come down to Gods country here in North Carolina we'll take you to pig out at bojangles, butter you up at Golden Corral, and if the creek don't rise a trip over to lizard lick to see the guys at lizard lick towing. You'll be as full as a tick lazy as a hound dog on a sunday afternoon when we're done with you...

Yeah, I've noticed every time I've come home from southern Africa or South America. I've been stuck here on the Northern hemisphere for over seven years now, I need to get out more.

Don't pay any attention to TT. Hanging upside down deep in the Southern Hemisphere confuses people who live there.

We watch a lot of British tv and I love the words used over there. I love words any way and love to use obscure ones.
