Thanksgiving Traditions
What are yours? Are you having a traditional turkey dinner this year or something else? How about desserts, is pumpkin pie mandatory on your list?
I've noticed that less folk are cooking the big dinners anymore and that getting together at a restaurant is becoming more popular, so what are your plans?
On a personal note while I really enjoy turkey, cranberry sauce never did anything for me...and I never touch that popular green bean casserole thing either. Just give me some kielbasa and kapusta on the side.

I'm cooking the big traditional dinner here.
Turkey
Mashed potatoes and gravy
Green bean casserole - we only have it a couple of times a year, but I really like it!
Corn on the cob
Homemade cranberry sauce - I never liked cranberry sauce either... until I started making my own and now it's a must not only with turkey but with other poultry meals too.
Sweet Potato soufflé - it wouldn't be a Thanksgiving dinner at our house without this yummy dish!!
Yeast rolls - these I'm not making from scratch - they are frozen ones that I'll bake. I don't have time to do everything from scratch.
Dressing/stuffing
and for dessert
Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake and (we all love my cheesecakes and this one is perfect for Thanksgiving)!
Honey Crunch Pecan Pie (this is my husband's favorite)!

I registered with a new name & password, but I'm confused as to how to make a posting. I'll just say here that I'm celebrating Thanksgiving alone with the Triune God.
We'll have turkey, cranberry sauce & open a can of sweet potatoes. Maybe a dessert of semisweet chocolate chips, & jam on graham crackers. I like cranberries either way, but I usually prefer the whole-berry kind.

Traditional. As long as the turkey, dressing, rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy is there, I'm fine. :)
And I do like the cranberry sauce, but I like the smooth/jelly kind. Not the one with the whole cranberries in it.

Just picked up 3 cream pie's on the way home from work at Shari's restaurant and bakery. My wife picked up a apple and pumpkin at Costco yesterday. That's 5 pies for 8 people. Oh well, I always go on a diet after the holidays. Didn't someone say overeating is sin? Well if so, I commit it one day a year on Thanksgiving. Have a marvelous time friends!
