That sounds like the Jains of India, they try to avoid that sort of thing completely.

Or if you suggested to a vegetarian that they should eat meat because it's healthy and they said, "oh I still couldn't since my reason is for compassionate reasons"

How would you take that or interpret that or hear that?
I think it's really no different than the Christian who homeschools, and slams public schools, and says how much better for children home schooling is, then asks you where your children go to school. It's rude.

BUT you said YOU asked THEM....well, that's totally different. If you ask, then you have to receive whatever their reasoning is. I take umbrage when someone forces their opinion on me when I haven't asked for it.

I looked up honey...interesting that they don't eat honey because the bees produce it for their own food....so do plants....how is that logical? If they eat lettuce they are eating the source and it's food? besides bees make surplus..I understand opposing robbing them of the food they need...

I wonder if they slap mosquitos when the bite them...what if bears overtake their neighborhood...

I get the compassion part...but IMHO it is hypersensitive to the point of irrational...because animals are instinct and not reason if mankind did not manage our environment it would overtake humanity...both plant AND animal...

Do they kill weeds? Would they allow kudzu to overtake their home?

    Just wondering...

I worked with a guy many years ago who was a non-meat eater due to religious reasons. He was a 7th day Adventist and said he was very concerned about sinning if he ate meat.
He tried to point out some Scripture that backed up what he believed (can't remember what verse or passage he referred too). As a matter of fact, this guy stated to me in a lightly seasoned tone that I could lose my salvation for being a meat eater (although he didn't say it bluntly, but hinted at it). Of coarse, his spiritual jargon had no affect on me. But what about someone new to the faith, a person who has trusted Jesus for salvation recently? A person like this (religious vegan) could put a new believer in bondage over vegan issues because of religious beliefs.
If you put God First, you have Him at Last.

Reminded of this....Romans 14:3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
That settles the judgement aspect from both sides of this issue...

Guess...how would or should we respond? Let's just say, " live by Romans 14:13 and let them look it up..or not...
