Not me..well I take that back...there was this one uncle I saw twice a year....he was the one I mentioned in another thread that had 2 'wives'.
Then there was this lady SS teacher...the only 2 people i actually recognized unconditional love from....and for sure the SS teacher was significant in my salvation.
And my grandmother was the one who raised me until her stroke when I was about 14. After that I was on my own...

Didn't have any "father figures" growing up, but the Lord did bless me with a kind and loving *Godfather* after I was born-again back in 1981 - He was a Deacon in the church where I got saved, and he and his wife took me under their wings and showed me much love and compassion.

He was instrumental in me purchasing my first car, and he also encouraged me to save enough money to put a down payment on the purchase of my first home...

He's in heaven now, but I'll always be grateful for his generosity, wisdom and love towards me.

EDITED TO ADD: My Godfather exhibited the qualities I associate with my Heavenly Father: *Wisdom, Generosity and most of all, unconditional Love*

    Quest and Ro...

...and yes, please feel free to either start a new thread or continue to discuss it here, there are so many aspects to this and now, in today's society, its so much more common for many to grow up without a father figure.

So glad both of you are in the kingdom

Psalm 68:5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

The quote I remember hearing the most growing up, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free."
