Strange contact on FB
So this morning, I logged into FB with a strange private message from this lady who states she is searching for her birth mother. And via her private investigator my name came up.
While I privately commend her courage for contacting a stranger with her story (it wasn't me) as I have never had a daughter, nor have I ever given a child up for adoption.
Has this happened to any one? I am concerned about a scam, etc., I did not send her a friend request, just replied that it was me and I wish her well in her search.
Do I need to be worried?

Maybe legit, maybe not...
I know I would have searched Facebook when I was looking for MY birth mother, had it been around back then (over 30 years ago).

It occurs to me that looking for a birth mother is a pretty limited scope. Perhaps it is legit. A woman either has or has not given up a baby. It would leave no room for further involvement if not.

I don't think you need to be worried but DO be alert. If she tries to stay in contact, I'd block her, since you made it clear it isn't you.
Could also be that she's contacting all the women she can find with the same name as you.

thank you! just wasn't sure what to think. At this time, no further contact has been made. Other then her reply of thanking me for responding.
I will just be alert as suggested.
Blessings to you all!

Pretty much what I was going to say too.

Did you wind up making contact with your birth mother?

I had a similar request, only it was the daughter of an old acquaintance I knew decades ago. Unfortunately the mother she searched high and low for, died a couple of months before she was able to make contact with her. That really grieved my spirit that they weren't able to connect.

Yes,
I found her after praying and being led by Holy Spirit on how to search for her - It's a long story with a *Happy Ending*
