Thread: Yet another death in the (extended) family.

Yet another death in the (extended) family.

So what have we had this year?

Death of a uncle of my wife
Death of an aunt of my wife
Death of the mother-in-law/mother of two of my wife's uncles/aunts (two of my mother-in-law's brother's married two sisters)
    Death of my mum
Death of our daughter's father in law
    Death of my brother
Death of one of mum's cousins (she taught my wife music at school and some of our kids in pre-school music literacy classes)
Death of another uncle of my wife (whose m-i-l passed away above) [this was today, the fourth anniversary of my father-in-law's death]
Death of one of my wife's previous managers (not sure where this fits in above - before or after mum I think)

And still three months to go.

Not the best of years, particularly as all three siblings have died from cancers.

Just talking with my sister and remembered that her cousin in law (husband's cousin) passed away around the same time as our brother. But we never knew him and that's probably taking "extended" a bit far.

Just to extend things a bit, for my mother in law today is the anniversary of her husband's death, the day after the birthday of a sister who passed away six weeks after her husband and now the day another brother died, the third of her siblings this year.

I recently conducted my daughter's father-in-law's funeral and then my brother's. Shortly after making the previous post I was contacted by a family I did a funeral for last year to do another one next week. I think I am prepared.

That's quite a year for your family.

In my family, once my parents generation started passing, they almost all went. There may be 3 or 4 of my mom's cousins still living otherwise, mine is the older generation in my family.
