I unashamedly admit to micro-managing my 3 year old.

I TOTALLY get it, having worked for micro-managers in the past....or as I also refer to them, "control freaks."
If you've hired good people, get out of their hair and let them do their job.

A micro-managing pastor is the worst.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
Micro-management is bad management.
A micro-manager will typically have several underlying personality disorders, the management stuff is just the tip of the iceberg (or the tip off that you're dealing with a crazy).

And a pastor would probably say a micro-managing board of elders is even worse!

You expect a Calvinist to give you sensible logic?
Wouldn't it better to describe one's self as being a Bible believing Christian? Or, a follower of Jesus Christ?

"Sensible logic"! As in the development of a theology of salvation anti-Calvinist style: (yeah, a bit tongue in cheek)
B1: Are you thinking what I'm thinking B2?
B2: I think I am B1, "whoever believes ... shall not perish" and we can all believe stuff so everyone can believe
B1: That's right B2, let's go tell people they need to believe, if they want to of course, their choise.
...
B1: Are you thinking what I'm thinking B2?
B2: I think I am B1, these babies we're talking to are too young to believe and so must go to hell
B1: We can't tell parents that B2, what if we say babies aren't sinful and they all go to heaven
B2: But "all have sinned" B1
B1: "all" doesn't mean "all" B2, you're starting to sound like a Calvinist.
B2: Actually that's our line B1, we'll just shhh! over that one.
B1: But babies die B2, and death is the wages of sin
B2: Not their sin B1, they inherited that from Adam
B1: Oh, they inherited death because of Adam's sin but not his sin nature?
B2: Yep, else "whoever believes" means "everyone can believe" doesn't work
B1: Are you thinking what I'm thinking B2?
B2: I think I am B1, we can't give God authority over us so we can't have that!
...
B1: Are you thinking what I'm thinking B2?
B2: I think I am B1, once kids start to grow up we know and they know they're intentionally doing wrong which means they sin and should go to hell
B1: We can't have that B2, what if we say that there's an "age of accountability" which they have to reach which is when they actually understand right and wrong and only after that do they sin and go to hell
B2: What age will that be B1?
B1: Well if we just give a wide age range people will be a lot more comfortable with that should their child die.
B2: I'm with you on that B1.
...
B1: B1: Are you thinking what I'm thinking B2?
B2: I think I am B1, everyone can and has to believe except for those who can't believe for whom a different set of rules apply.
B1: Simple, sensible and logical B2.
...
B1: B1: Are you thinking what I'm thinking B2?
B2: I think I am B1, except for that fact that it puts God the creator in charge and not man His creation, it would be so much simplier to be a Calvinist and believe that Paul was correct when he wrote to the Ephesians that God "chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him", then we wouldn't have to come up with so many exceptions to the basic rule.

God created you Colonel, you belong to Him, why shouldn't He be able to decide what happens to you?
P.S. Do you like the wife and eternal destiny He choose for you?
added:
So Colonel you think that you as a sinful, rebellious, God hating, ignorant (of 99.99999.% of what's happened (or will happen) in the world), knowing only what you can remember experiencing, created creature would be better at choosing your eternal destiny than the all knowing, righteous, holy, loving and just God who specifically created you?
