Angry Anger at a false "gosple"

I was angry. I'm over it a bit.

I used to think that Muslims would be really angry after blowing themselves up and finding themselves in hell; angry at being lied to by their leaders.

But today, after getting angry myself, I realised that those who will be angrier, and with good cause, are those who have been lied to by "christians".

This reply to me on Facebook is what got me angry
please let me help by dumbing it down, Ben is gay and Jesus God & the Holy Spirit love him unconditionally ! You on the other had being one that sins and throw s stones, well maybe repent my brother
(I think he meant "you on the other hand being one that sins and throws stones - I've met Ben. He was brought up in a christian home. I was gently [but truthfully] presenting the Gospel to him.)

I was angry because there are "christians" out there who tell sinners that they've made mistakes but God loves them just as they are and that if they want they can get to know God a bit better rather than telling them the truth as they need to know it, that they are under the wrath of God and unless they repent and are saved will spend eternity in hell (no matter how God feels about them).

Have you ever been lied to? Not nice when you find out is it? Well how would YOU like it if you only found out that you'd been lied to as you were falling into hell? Just a bit angry?

    <end of rant - but I'm still (a bit) angry>

It would be a horrible thing to think you were saved but end up in hell

Many today promote the seeker sensitive gospel. Make everyone feel good and don't offend anyone with the Truth!

    Agreed.

And what of people like Ben who believes (because he's been told) that our "god loves everyone" and that that will somehow count in his favour when he dies.

Today's speaker said something like the "truth makes us feel miserable before making us free"

I read a bit of that .. I could see you struggling, valiantly to remain truthful, yet kind.

I see a whole new rift coming in the church over this (and probably other overt sin too)

with the "truth for you / truth for me" concept that's so strongly presented now, it's only going to get worse.

This is when we remember that we're farmers.. we plant and water, telling truth kindly, and the Holy Spirit will deal with it.

Having said that, I too grieve for those who get sold a bill-of-goods that is a false gospel. I wouldn't to be the one who sold it either.

I think it's very difficult for Christian parents to face that fact that the child they gave birth to, whom they love, is inherently evil, being willing to openly, unashamedly sin.

In these cases I'm tempted to ask the parents if they'd be as "proud" and supportive if their kid openly proclaimed that they were a car thief or a drug dealer?

The major problem with that is the agenda that the homosexual community has been very good at promoting.

They've very effectively convinced society to, not only accept, but celebrate homosexuality. That makes us The Bad Guy in speaking out. We're the rain on their parade and we're the ones who are mistaken.. The Bible doesn't say it's bad! etc, etc, etc.

Bit slow loading at the moment, but the video at http://www.fairfieldchiro.com/blog/a...-brain-washed/ is very interesting, it shows how people can be led to do things just because everyone else is. As the main character in the video says "... I felt I needed to join them, otherwise I felt excluded ...".

We're having a National Census on Tuesday. Always an optional question was "What is your religion?" Somehow this year the "No Religion" choise has got to the top and there is a concerted social media and paid advertising effort to get people to mark "No Religion".

Meanwhile the different Pentecostal churches, while suggesting we answer the question, don't seem to have got together to come up with a consistant "other" entry to enter so that we are all grouped together.

The Church seems disorganised at the moment.

    Unhappy

This was a reply I got from an early thirtys year old male who was brought up in a church going home, sent to a Christian school and as far as I know still goes to my church
    your not God...

Its your place to keep peace harmony... bring love...
Jesus who walked the earth condemn how many people while walking amongst people???

Jesus calls us to love not judge....

If publicly we want to have a voice it must be done in love!

Standing up for values beliefs shouldnt mean attacking(online) a father who stated he is proud of his son....

I dont support cause of homosexuality.... but it won't stop me loving people....
btw my only response to the Dad who posted a link to a story about his som claiming to be gay was "I'm not sure what the story is trying to say, is it saying that we're suppost to accept sin as being OK?"

Add - I'm also feeling sad.
