There are people who have a lot of faith in God including for healing but none for prosperity for instance, for the simple reason that they do not understand that God wants them to prosper, they do not have that hope based on scripture and therefore they cannot have faith according to that hope either.
There's a danger that people are taught by a godless world that they are their brains and then when their brains are damaged then that is it. To some extent people are able to find new paths in their brains and are able to rewire themselves so that they can reconstruct their thought patterns but this seems to defined as being beyond that. Dr. Caroline Leaf talks about how our mind and brain are separate and that the mind affects and can effectively reprogram the brain. A Christian has the vantage point of having the mind of Christ and that is something powerful. Scripture reveals the mind of Christ. This is part of a healing process that goes beyond a simple reconstructive miracle taking place in a flash though that could be part of it.
Even with a partly damaged brain, the absence of useful thoughts related to inhibition towards certain activities does not imply that the nature of the flesh now has free ticket to do whatever it wants. To someone who does not have the Holy Spirit that may be the case if the damage is sufficiently severe but the Holy Spirit steps in to override the nature of the flesh even when we don't understand everything at the thought level. If our hearts are with him and don't just align themselves with the perceived opportunity to go with the flesh now that there is an excuse. He also gives us understanding where there is none. I've seen that happen with retarded people who probably couldn't understand the gospel at the level of the mind yet they were able to connect by way of an understanding given them by the Spirit and they took it from there. What I just described naturally becomes part of a healing process. The Bible talks about walking on level paths so that the hurt limb can be healed. The Holy Spirit is our power where we have little power ourselves.
Heb 12:12 Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees,
13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.
14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:
