The temps above are about 80miles south of Sydney and maybe a mile from the ocean.

Go inland a bit and it does get cold enough for frosts. It's below the equator the same as the US southern states are above it.

    No thank God.

We get winds coming upon us from the Snowy Mountains in the south and that's bad enough. "Freezing" (well not literally - but taken in context ... :) )

Winter wonderland is so much better than temperatures in the 100s.

Like I told CatchyUsername once, they've got three seasons in the Southern US (relative to Norwegian thinking) :

    (starting from january)

    fall/spring - summer - hell - summer

    and so on

    70

Here in the middle of South Carolina we had a high a couple of years ago of 113 degrees, but usually on these June-August days we have highs from 95 to 104 degrees with high humidity, ... and the humidity really impacts the heat index and makes the heat feel more burdensome.

But Praise God for efficient air conditioners that keep both home and office comfortable at 70 degrees!!!

We measure in Celsius here so... 24c pretty much all year. We get summer temps as high as 38 in Karmiel and rarely much higher. I remember one day about a month ago when it hit 50. No snows expected Karmiel where I own my apartment but in the winter in some of the higher elevations, like Jerusalem, Hebron, the Golan heights and Sfat will get a substantial amount of snow during the winter. We also rent a small apartment in Jerusalem so I get to experience snow there a few days each winter. I grew up in the snow belt of north western New York and I don't miss the big snows too much.

47 C or 116 F is the most I've experienced but being in the pitch dark after sunset in 40 C or 104 F in Death Valley was more impressive. The combination of darkness and oppressive heat was unreal.
