    The DNA Journey

This is a wonderful video. These people had their DNA tested to determine their ancestry and it's amazing. Loved it.

Americans and Canadians have no clue what their true heritage is...we ARE the melting pots. I DO think it's surprising that people who have lived in Europe/Asia/Africa for their entire lives, and can trace their family lineage would find anything unusual in their DNA.

I was curious about my father's side of the family DNA a couple years ago. I was suspicious that there was Jewish heritage on his side of the family. It didn't turn out to be a big surprise when it came back as 100% Jewish with Ashkenazi origins. It did help me understand a little about why I am comfortable in this culture though. My sister is doing the matrilineal side of the DNA now and it will be fun to find out if she has any Jewish ancestry. We don't think she does but we really didn't know dad was Jewish either. I guess we are Jewish enough that Hitler would have killed us all but not Jewish at all according to Rabbinic law. I guess I'll just continue to be Christian and I think God is okay with that.
