For all you cat lovers....
Nature isn't always pretty.
Webcams that were placed around a bald eagle nest in Pittsburgh captured adult eagles returning with a young cat to feed their two eaglets.
Some viewers were disturbed that the scene was live-streamed on the popular Hays nest website.
Others pointed out that a cat may represent a pet to people, but to eagles it's just a source of sustenance like squirrels, rabbits or fish.
Rachel Handel, a spokeswoman for the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania, said the cat was dead before it was brought to the nest, but it's unclear if it was a pet or feral.
“The cameras are up 24/7 and can show a side of nature that isn’t really pretty,” Handel explained.
"A lot of people have an idyllic view of these eagles. I think the eagle cameras are providing an education of what it takes to survive and raise offspring in nature."
