Yellow/dark beige house is where I live.

No. They look nice right now, but we refer to them as sloughs, stagnant water that is full of yuck. Cattle, horses, and other wildlife drink it, but humans should never, without boiling. We also have something we call "the itch" which is duck flukes, little bugs that get under your skin and itch like the worst rash or mosquito bites you've ever had. The water in the coulee looks nice, but it has a dirt bottom, so you'd sink up to your knees in muddy slime.

Thank you and they do. There are more lined up along the fence line in the pasture.

Only 11? Gosh. You never know when you might need a part for something.

    Thanks!

Our official acreage is about 15 acres. Rog inherited the quarter beside our acreage when his mom passed. It's about 180 acres of pasture that we rent to a neighbor in the summer for his cattle.

And actually, they've already asked. Something about a "silver haired couple."

@@@ It's pretty normal for our area. It looks like sand only because it's dead grass. If they videoed even just 6 weeks from now, it would look very different. It has to be well into May before we look green.

Do you have a lot of snakes and wild animals out there.

@@@ Mostly garter snakes. Certainly nothing poisonous. Wild animals include all the usual, deer, moose, coyotes, foxes. Bears occasionally are spotted, but usually north of us.

You have so many junker cars it made me wonder if you sell parts from them.

@@@Rog would probably sell some parts if he knew someone was looking for something specific, but mostly, it's just his hoard.

Do you go swimming in the ponds?

@@@ No. See my answer to peace.

What is that big barrel like thing for? Is it a wine barrel?

    @@@ Yes, it's a wine barrel.

It's actually a tank from the oil field that Rog used to store hay in when we had horses. Now, it just collects junk. I've been after him for years to cut it up and get rid of it. If you notice in the windmill video, that's another oil tank Rog cleaned out and uses to store the water the windmill pumps. He rigged it with a float to release water into the trough as the cattle drink.

Are there any towns close by or are you all alone. You look like you are miles from people. I know some people like that kind of living. I would rather be closer to where other people live.

@@@ Our closest neighbor is right across the county road, which makes them about a quarter mile away, basically the length of our driveway. Nearest town of just under 900ppl is 5 miles away. Nearest small city of about 38,000 is 25 miles away. Nearest large city (by our standards in the prairies) of over 1M ppl is 225km, a two hour drive.

I guess my husband and I are some of those people because we've lived on this acreage for 40 years.

It's less than a 10 min drive into town if we need people.

    Other than that, nice place.

PS. I would suggest getting some watch dogs to parole the property.

@@@ Geeee.... why didn't we think of that???

ummmm, yup. It's common to have 1-2 large dogs.

I am sure Canada is a nice place to visit, but as for me I am as far North as I care to go.

    Cool, and thanks for sharing.

When I was younger, I wanted to live in a rural setting, but as I've aged, I prefer to be close to other people. And my wife would go crazy if I asked her to live in the countryside.

Where do you go for Thai food at 2 in the morning?
