Teach....how does it affect my life? I have a passion for detail...words are important to me and I like to pick apart the scriptures but beyond that I have a strong desire to strengthen others with truth to be set free....the con side is I can be too technical and detailed and lean too heavily on the academic..I have to study in detail and then teach 'as the Spirit leads' and that is often without a lot of detail. My challenge is to not be discouraged when I pour hours into study and prayer and others hear but don't listen...no change...teachers, pastors have to guard against that frustration..day after day, year after year seeing no change in people..that change can be a subtle and unnoticed as paint drying...truth and Holy Spirit are chiseling away at their soul..we just have to be sure we are listening and sharing a HE leads and leave the results to Him.

I'm called to be a billionaire. The complete failure to achieve this has frustrated me greatly.
Oh, wait, you probably mean to ask what I think God wants me to do.
It seems He wants me to be an Israeli tour guide, teacher, writer and mostly, servant. I love teaching people about the Bible while walking the parks, hills and churches of Israel. You can ask anyone who has walked with me and you will find that I also enjoy the aspect of service that goes with that. Better yet, come walk with me! (And by doing so, move me closer to my calling to be a billionaire.)

Well, as you know I've been called to share my artistic talent with needy children in Kenya, and I'm working with these things every day. Sketching, writing, doing the book-keeping (*), keeping in touch with sponsors etc. etc. but I'm also rather busy at church. The Lord has given me a love for writing and I make the church magazine (a small one) every second month and do several other things at church. My days would be empty without the work that the Lord has called me to do. (But of course there are other things I'd like to try, but never find the time to do).

The reason I asked was that I have found that many don't have a clue what their calling is. So sad! I'm doing a Bible study on Colossians right now and the first verse made me think about the importance of being confident in your calling: "Paul, the apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God ......"

(PS Hey, how do I say that correctly: Doing the books, keeping the books, accounting???)

How I'd love to go to Israel, but the past 25 years we've spent our money on buying air fares to Kenya. Our friends and family, they've almost ALL of them been to Israel at least once. I warn you, if we come I won't have enough for big fat tipping for the tour guide. Still welcome? I'd love to have you as a guide. Nice to see that you are posting more frequently again!

My calling is and has been living and walking the path I have in my life. I have seen the working and direction of the Holy Spirit in my life. A name to put on it? I would say encourager best fits.

I am called to the ministry of the Word. I have been an evangelist, teacher, pastor, opened new churches, I have done some missionary work, I have been an administrator (especially in Bible Colleges), financial overseer, counselor, prayer seminars, I have preached in churches, outdoor venues, camp meetings, parks, jails, home churches, nursing homes, ministers conferences, TV and radio, etc. I mention all these things to show the variety that God has allowed in my life and all to minister the gospel. Now I am retired and believing God for healing miracles for both me and my wife. I have never regretted anything I have done. Some have been very hard and some glory days as well. I do not have a goal of being a billionaire or the like. My goal is Heaven and the eternal presence of the Lord God Almighty! You may look for me around the Throne as close to His feet as I can get that I might thank Him for a billion years!

I've had different things running in a thread.. not sure, exactly what name it would be.

years ago, my husband and I were very active in cult evangelism.. then God led us away from that.. For a while it was shining our little light at the Renaissance Faires and SciFi cons we attended as merchants.. (that was an interesting time!) Now, I'm a Children's leader in BSF (Bible Study Fellowship)
God's given me a gift of being a good story teller. (I never knew~)

I'm always surprised to see where he's leading me next.
