Yeah, I know. There are times of icy conditions that people are advised to stay off the roads and occasionally roads will get closed. Amounts of snow and ice vary greatly from area to area of the country. Prairie winter is much different than mountain, great lakes or coastal winter, but it has to be REALLY bad for most people to stay home. When you have snow on the ground for at least 6 months running, you can't just stop life. Maybe it's different in the cities, but there's STILL no panic for milk, bread and toilet paper around here.

The last few days we've had some icy roads. Not bad, but enough to slow most people down by about 20mph. I've put about 200KM on in the last 2 days, and tomorrow, will probably do about 400KM.

A snow snob is someone who lives in an area that gets a lot of snow and likes to make fun of how these areas react when they get snow that don't normally get a lot of snow. Like one time I posted a picture of maybe 2-3" of snow, a good blanket of snow, and I think woffie said, "Up here we call that a dusting." That's a snow snob remark.

This hideous snowman (more likely) is getting really tired of slippery snow and temperatures around 0 F. I would love to have 40s and sun instead.

Now that you've described it, I have noticed that attitude about her

And I've NEVER heard anyone around here panic about "stocking up." It just doesn't make any difference. It's just another day.

Someone showed me a picture of a church sign that said, 'If you are praying for a blizzard go to Dairy Queen'
