Have you ever heard of the Dormition Abby? Dorme=sleeping. In this case, Mary, the mother of Jesus is celebrated... sleeping in church. If you look carefully, you can see that she was assumed into the heavens where she still reigns as God and the mother of God.

A few times, Yes but I was sitting upright and my eyes just closed...I am accustomed to cat napping on the transit bus so no real embarrassing moment...not sure if the pastor knew or thought I was just meditating...we never discussed it..and as a PS it had nothing to do with him..I always enjoy his messages and delivery..he is pretty loud and animated...I was just exhausted..

    Yes, once.

I was in a chair, with arm on the chair's armrest, and my head propped up on my hand.

When I dozed off, my arm gave out, my head dropped, and I woke up. I heard at least one snicker from the people behind me, but I hope the pastor didn't notice.

Sometimes its better to stay at home and have a good sleep than go to church and be exhausted

Not asleep. However, I admit that sometimes, depending on who's speaking, I may try to sit behind someone taller than I am so the speaker won't see me with my eyes comfortably shut.

I can sleep just about anywhere when I'm tired enough.

A few times, when I worked overnight shifts...I didn't have sense enough to go home after leaving work at 7:30am.

That was several years ago though.
