Now Walmart likes to herd everyone through self-checkout, I really hate that and prefer a real cashier, they are also rude about the whole thing, anyway since they are herding everyone through self checkout, they are also asking for receipts when you leave the store, you are now a suspect.
Retailers commonly give away things, offer very cheap prices on some things, they are called "loss leaders", you go all the way to the back of the store to get the cheap milk and they hope you'll throw a few over-priced items into your cart along the way. Well, Walmart also has a very good tool section, not as good as Harbor Freight but some of their tools are real bargains so I'm saving money on milk and then buying some tools.
One problem though, every time I checkout and am about to leave the store this chirpy little lady stops me and asks for a receipt, one time she even rifled through my cart at checkout to see if I was changing tags. Now, the first time it happened, no problem, she's just doing her job, the second time, I'm a little less comfortable with getting pulled over for a receipt, the third time she rifles through the cart, ahhh, no, this is too much but figure she is only doing her job and let it go but when I get home I have this email from Walmart asking me to "rate my Walmart shopping experience". I gave the 1 star, the lowest possible rating and told them that if I am ever accosted again at checkout and treated like a shoplifting suspect I will sue them for public embarrassment, false imprisonment, harm to reputation, etc, etc.
I've been back a few times since and the little chirpy lady isn't there anymore and no one is asking me for receipts.
