It seems like everyone I know in NC has either hit a deer or come very, very close to doing so.

I know this is morbid, BUT your story reminded me of a guy I went out with a couple of times. He invited me over for venison steak, and after eating told me the story of how he acquired the meat. siiiiiiiiiigh. suffice it to say, the man fed me road kill. Last date.

For those who want to separate themselves from the horrible conditions that animals endure under modern factory farming techniques, but who still want to consume meat, eating road kill is one way of achieving both goals.
