    Spirit Alive / Catia

The older members here may remember her. She was one of the original members on the old forum and a moderator, a very sweet lady. I remembered that she passed on April 1st and when I checked her Facebook page I realized that it's been 10 years already.

I have met her 3 times
First time was for the first retreat for forum members that I had organizised in N.C.
The second time was a retreat that Sandy and me had prepared together.
but before that Catia and I travel through the US meeting Samuel , RevKev&wife, Pastrog&wife.

After the first week we met A.J.
We spend some wonderful days at the oregon beach with Bookman&wife, Linda and someone else I do not remember. Then we met with Woffie&wife, Barrie, Krystian
and then we drove up to meet Firebrand&wife.
It was a lot of fun with Catia.

Her daughter Heather is the same age as my second daughter, so when Gerda had to spend for school some weeks in a different language region, Catia invited her to her home for 3 weeks.

I remember that she was happy to loose weight when in the middle of Feb she got her diagnosis: Oesophagus cancer. It was then already stage 4. In march I flew to be with her in TX, she was already so weak and in bad condition that she hardly could get up. She slept mostly, but I had the possibility to share the letters and emails of many from the forum,
she appreciated your kind words. After 2 weeks I had to fly back to work, and 2 days later she died.
She was a great woman of faith, strenghth and humor and to me a great friend.

Ten years. Wow. Can it really be?

I had a great time with Catia and Heidi, travelling from Detroit where we stayed at Woffie's and met other Forum members to firebrand's, and then south, meeting and staying with pastorrog and his wife in West Virginia and then down to the retreat. So much fun.

Wow. 10 years. I notice the last post on the page was Jan. '12. And not even mentioned on her page.

When was it the other woman died, Bella? I remember at one time the dancing elephant was :Bella: as a tribute to her.

Yeah, Bella was a sweet lady. I never met her in person. She had a hard time because of diabetes and dialysis. She was not able to work. I remember that we women from here bought her a laptop when hers broke down, so that we could stay in touch.

I've met with Linda a couple times (amazing lady) and have been trying to get down into Oregon. Even was starting to make plans for the fall of 2020 to go to the Pendleton Round Up and make a loop to see you, Lev Echad and Marieanne, as well as a cousin in Redmond and possibly go up through Seattle to see more family and Smitty. But... 2020 being what it was, it obviously didn't happen. Now... who knows if I'll ever get back to the States.

It does not seem possible that 10 years have gone by. I am so glad that I got to meet all I met at Bookman's, met Trudie in Disneyland and 2 times got to visit with A.J. I met Kimberely when she drove to Portland and met me at the airport when I had some time before my next flight. I met Bella to, I sat with her while she was on dialysis, she was so sweet. I wish I could meet more of you!
