What Is Your Traffic Pet Peeve?
Pet Peeves of driving in traffic. What is yours?
I'm reminded this morning to keep irritations to a minimum. That is, when having encounters at a 4-way stop. Most of you city folk probably won't relate to those but in small towns there are many.
I had a good drivers ed teacher that said something memorable, "don't fall asleep at 4-way stops". Some people that get there before you do will sit and wait until you come to a legal, complete stop before they go. Seriously, just go. Knowing they are probably OCD or on the spectrum, I creep at a snails pace and never really fulfill their qualification of a stop.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
In the land of Bentleys, Maseratis, Beemers, Benzs and other cars driven by "important" people I find it best to take the big, ugly van and let the others suffer the peeves. Go ahead fancy car, make my day!

In 2018 we got t-boned at a 4 way stop and our car was totaled. Mr C and I both still feel slight apprehension at 4 way stops now, especially the one where we got hit.
I don't like city traffic at all!

Here is another. Night driving and people acting like it's a huge inconvenience to dim their lights until they have to. Example: when driving up a hill we were taught to hit lo-beams in the presence of oncoming traffic before cresting the hill. In other words, the car on the uphill/otherside knows full well you are coming up but waits until they see your headlights and usually when the distance is so close it temporarily removes your night vision.

Driving here in Albania is a really adventerous thing. Of course, I understand that if you are driving and on the phone, you do not have a hand free to hit the blinker. And of course, it is awful if you want to make some shopping and there is in middle of the town (300'000 people live here in Durres) no nearby parking lot. But when you leave the car in the traffic lane while you get what ever, could you not at least turn the motor off? But it gets even a bit more crazy if you park your car, like I a saw last sunday, in a roundabout.
Yet it is amazing how few accidents you see.
