    I haven't tried it yet but homemade uses butter and milk, not water and oil like the boxed cake mixes tell you to use so I'm curious if this is an easy way to improve their quality.

    Thing is, why not just make it from scratch if you need to improve it! I've never gotten the point of mixes other than you get extra preservatives in them.

    If you buy from a bakery that produces it commercially... no tellin how many toxins will be in it.

    There's no substitute for doing it yourself so you can control what ingredients go in to it.

    But, for those that don't mind a few known cancer causing agents, commercially produced stuff normally tastes pretty good so there's always that.

    I do make many cakes from scratch but it would sure simplify and speed up the process if you could grab a cake mix, tweak it just a little and wind up with a cake that tastes homemade. ;)
