    LOL...I'm a picky eater too. Try growing up Polish where headcheese was common and then being offered such delicacies as kishka and czarnina.

    My Dad loved head cheese! I liked fried gizzards, but I can't stand the taste of any kind of liver. I'm pretty sure God didn't intend that we eat liver.

    My daddy loved fried gizzards and livers. I'm definitely not a fan.

    Head cheese is originally a European dish, we call it sylte.

    Can't explain it, but people have often thought I was from "Up North" - I think I talk like everyone else from Virginia, but we don't typically have a thick, southern drawl like our neighbors from the Carolinas and below.

    Yeah, Catchy didn't sound Southern to me in phone conversations.

    My granddaughters who are 13, heeded my warning from when very little to always ask great grandma if the chicken and dumplings was really chicken. If my daddy made them, they are squirrel

    Sooo if you didn't know, then squirrel tastes just like chicken?



    But I don't understand how chicken and dumplings and deviled eggs are considered southern foods, everyone eats those.
