    Buttermilk

Do you like it? I mean to drink it straight, not for use in a recipe.

Someone I know loves it and bought some so I thought I'd finally take a sip to see if I could acquire a taste for it.

Thankfully I was near the sink when I did because the gag reflex kicked in...it tasted like liquid sour cream.

It's probably an acquired taste.I like it but only drink it when I buy some for making cornbread..a few times a year..

Daddy used to fill a glass up with cornbread and pour it over it and eat it. I'm sure it came from the era he grew up in. Probably a staple of poorer southern families.

I've never bought buttermilk, I just add a couple tablespoons of lemon juice to milk when its called for in a recipe.
