When I was little, my Grandmother fried up some venison, and I absolutely loved it. I asked what it was, and my Grandmother told me it was venison...I asked, what that was, to which my brother promptly jumped in with, "Bambi." I think I put my fork down for about 2 seconds, then decided it was too good NOT to eat!

Deer, along with bison/buffalo and elk are all raised on farms and ranches now. Combine that with inspected/commercial slaughter and there's no reason it can't be served in a restaurant.

It's hunting season here, at least for ducks and geese. The flocks are moving by the thousands and they land in the combined fields to feed before they leave for the winter. The other morning, just before daybreak, there was a group of goose hunters about a mile to the south of me ... blam blam blam ....... went on for a couple hours. Scares the dickens out of one of my dogs, even that far away.
Rog saw a flock of swans a couple weeks ago.

Arby’s sells out of venison sandwich on first day in Nashville
NASHVILLE -- Apparently, Nashvillians love the idea of a deer steak on a bun.
The Arby's on Rosa Parks Blvd. sold out of venison sandwiches on the first day, effectively ending a promotion that was scheduled to continue through Nov. 3. The Nashville store was the first of 17 locations in the country to offer the venison sandwich special.
"We stuck a nerve, in a good way, with hunters," said Luke DeRouen of Arby's, confirming that the Nashville location went through more than 250 sandwiches in 5 hours. "Some people drove from an hour away to try it," he said...
