My mum broke the rules once for my kids when they were young so we had it twice that year. She also puts a coin in the pitta and it is cut into slices and spun around to see who gets 'good luck' for the year

When my kids were growing up of course my parents made sure that my kids always had the slice with the coin and made sure there were 2 coins so they both won. Grandparents will break customs for the grandkids
    That sounds like fun!
    What goes in the pitta?

That's the strange thing...it is so simple but delicious
Basically butter, filo pastry, fetta cheese, eggs - its the way its made gives it a different texture and taste.
Other Greek pittas have similar ingredients but taste different due to how they are made - I just eat them I'm too dumb to make them

That sounds really good! I don't cook as much as I used to and I really miss it.
