Well, so far, I've made 10doz tarts, 2 mincemeat, 4 pecan and 4 raisin. I buy my tart shells and the mincemeat.
Cookies, a single batch of oatmeal raisin and a double batch of sugar cookies... 2/3 of them i fill with homemade raspberry jam and the other third I flattened with a crystal glass for the design, dipped in sugar.
My baking takes on a crazy twist. I like to bake with butter for the rich taste, but my daughter is allergic to dairy. So everything I bake, I do twice. Once with margarine and once with butter. So the tarts today I made with margarine and then in a day or two, I'll make more with butter. I'll make shortbread, too, same way ... a pound of margarine and probably 2 lb of butter.
Then, to make it even more complicated, we have a vegan come for Christmas dinner. So I usually try to make a vegan dessert for her... it helps if I make a vegan, gluten free dessert which will serve both of us, as I try to eat about 90% gluten free...
Makes for an interesting cooking day.
Oh, I found gluten free perogies when I was buying groceries yesterday. I can hardly wait to try them!!!!!!!!
I would make snickerdoodles, peanut butter chocolate temptations, peanut butter blossoms, and the old fashion chocolate chip cookies. I think I did a few others years ago, but those are my "go to" cookies during the holidays. Kids love them.
