    Be ready!

However, no one knows the day or the hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows. ( Matthew 24:36)
Now you are on board with the teachings of Jesus and the apostle Paul! Good job brother!

With all due respect to all my pre-tribulational, secret catching away of the church, brothers and sisters here at LFF.
Although, at one time, I too, held to the "secret coming" of Jesus for the church. I no longer believe it.
I absolutely believe Jesus is coming again, but not secretly, it will be openly, and everyone will see it.
    Behold, He cometh with clouds,
and every eye shall see Him"...Rev 1:7.
Dear brothers and sisters, the "secret rapture eschatology" is not a salvation issue, nor do I wish to raise any divisiveness among the members of our Christian forum.
We are free to believe and hold a view of the second coming of Jesus that may differ from what others hold too.
Yet, those who hold to a pre-tribulation rapture separate the second coming into two stages.
Nowhere is this taught in the scriptures.
His first coming was in one stage (the incarnation), and so will be His second coming.
So Christ was offered to bear the sins of many (first coming),
and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation (Heb 9:28)

1 Thessalonians 4:17 says; "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Notice the verse does not say anything about us going to heaven. It only says we are caught up to meet the Lord in the air. We will have an encounter with Jesus in the air. When the Lord Jesus comes again, it will be to resurrect the dead in Christ, catch the living (Christians) to meet the Lord Himself in the air, and then establish an earthly (millennial) kingdom.

2 Timothy 4:8; "Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto them also that love His appearing. What day? I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom (2 Tim 4:1). It's the day when He judges the quick and dead at His appearing. Yet he said (Paul), "...not to me only, but unto all them that love His appearing; the Second Advent of Christ. There is no differentiation between a rapture and Second Advent.

2 Thessalonians 1:7 we read, "And you who are troubled, rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels. His coming is with angels. Angels announced His first coming in Luke 2: 10-14 and they will come with Him at His second coming.

Matthew 16:27; "For the Son of man shall come in the glory of His Father with his angels, and then He shall reward every man according to his works."

Revelation 22:12; "And, behold, I come quickly, and my reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be."

Matthew 24:31; "And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." Matthew speaks of a trumpet, a great sound which will wake the dead in Christ. This coincides with I Corinthians 15:51-52; Behold, I show you a mystery, we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1 Thessalonians 4:16; "For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first."
I don't see no "quietness" or "secrecy" in His coming. Paul spoke of His glorious appearing in Titus 2:13; Looking for the blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ."

My personal opinion is that the apostles and the early church fathers held to only one second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is also my belief that the "secret rapture theory" was the creation of John Nelson Darby back in the 18th century. This "new" doctrine was spread by non other than Cyrus I. Scofield through the publication of his bible in the early part of the 19th century.

Let me conclude this post by saying that there is no secret, pretribulational, catching away of the church.
The rapture and the Second Advent of the Lord Jesus Christ are the same event. Believing they are separate events will produce a "false hope" and may lead many Christians to "falling away" when they realize they are still here when things really get tough as the end times progress.

Again, it is my firm belief that the return of Jesus coming back to this earth will be a singular event.

    It will also be:
    SUDDEN,
    ATMOSPHERIC,
    VISBLE,
    NOISY,
    DISUPTIVE,
    FIERY,
    GLORIOUS,
    and JUDGMENTAL.

Lastly, if Jesus returns twice the second "Second Coming" would have to be called the THIRD COMING of Jesus Christ. Come to reason folks, there is only one SECOND COMING of Jesus Christ.
If you put God First, you have Him at Last.

Why I believe that the tribulation has already started and is ongoing in phases just like birth pangs. Let Jesus settle this matter:

Matthew 24:3-22 New King James Version (NKJV)

3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?"

4 And Jesus answered and said to them:
"Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

15 "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.

The Tribulation begins when the Antichrist signs a peace treaty with Israel.
