    Repent:
    1. to change one's mind, i.e. to repent
    2. to change one's mind for better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one's past sins

2 Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
A thief may go to jail, a murderer may be executed…
Those are the laws of MAN.

Now..nowhere does the Bible tell Christians to PUNISH the repentant by telling them what they can and can’t do in God’s Kingdom.

We as humans may insist on taking time to observe the repentant before reinstating them to a church job. But I am not convinced that the Bible tells us to have those church jobs to begin with and if we do that He tells us a repentant person can't serve...

With whom? Again...your statement seems to ignore the issue of REPENTANCE...Are you saying that consequences of sin are exacted by God on His repentant children?

If you paper over your adultery with a new marriage, you have not repented of adultery, you have chosen to stay in it.

You can play the spiritual shell game if you want to, I won't.

Thing is with folks who are into adultery, that's just one manifestation of a seriously messed up life. The adultery is just a part of it.

    lying

    betraying

    lusting

    stealing

    truce breaking

No one ever just woke up in bed one morning with a strange woman, it doesn't work that way.
    Agree.

That's not quite the case. It does discuss the matter of having a good reputation with outsiders. Specifically in relation to becoming an overseer. Having a bad reputation isn't something that one can simply repent of. One may try to work on changing that reputation but one may not actually be able to change it much. Being a minister is a privilige and for the benefit of those ministered to, it is not a lifelong entitlement like with judges in the US and for the benefit of oneself.

    tattoos, dress shirts..REALLY?

Wardrobe does not win souls. I would suggest wearing something but really, what that is, is not important.

What did Paul mean by being a Jew to Jews ? Did he mean to dress up like a Jew and be a pretender or did it mean something deeper ?

"Changing" one's reputation often depends on how long the people who have judged someone want to keep the fire burning.

Reputation CAN be turned into TESTIMONY by our loving, healing, freeing God.
