Thank God imperfection does not disqualify us from service for our Lord..
Thank God repentance cleans the slate.
Thank God that His mercy exceeds that of mankind and His judgments are just and based on the grace of our savior, Jesus.

Thank YOU Lord that TB repented in humility and honestly acknowledged his sin both to YOU and the body of Christ. Thank YOU Lord for extending YOUR righteousness to HIM so that He could once again be used by Your Spirit.

    Amen

John, Num. 22:88 if God can use an ass to speak to people, he can certainly use Todd Bentley. Sorry... AJ, I had to do it... pray for me! I probably need deliverance.

Jeremiah 23:15 Therefore this is what the LORD Almighty says concerning the prophets: "I will make them eat bitter food and drink poisoned water, because from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has spread throughout the land."

A prophet in that context could be anyone who is trying to discern the times and who claims to represent God or the truth so we should all be careful about what we are trying to spread.

Yes, that is why we are to uphold ministers to ministry standards. The biggest problem with the "prophetic stream" is the "prophetic stream". They do more harm to the ministry of prophecy than the heretic hunter types.

C'mon people, you can do better!

Proverbs 20:11 Even small children are known by their actions, so is their conduct really pure and upright?

John, you are starting to sound like Farm Truck. Cardinal TT summed it up in one sentence, there are all kinds of ministers that bring reproach to the name of Christ and that includes prophetic ministers.

The only thing I said to Farm Truck is that zeal without knowledge is not good. That is pretty much the same thing going on here and seems to a prevailing issue with some in the prophetic stream. While we should welcome (not despise) the ministry of prophecy, we don't throw all else to the wind.

1 Timothy 5:22 Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, and do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.

By approving a minister, we share in the responsibility and fruit of that ministry, we should not be hasty as we are accountable for the sins that ministry may produce. Causing others to sin is serious business with the Lord.

Matthew 18:6 But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea.
