The return of Jesus has always been happening "within 5 years" since 33 AD so therefore every prophecy is taking place "right now or within 5 years", or so they claim. So it is only natural that someone comes up with a way of connecting the return of Jesus in 2016 to a blood moon somewhere in 2015. For instance.

Is this blood moon event being trumpeted as the 'return of Christ'? It could be something significant pointing to..
Colonel and Cardinal TT. Do you have any FACTS that counter what the article states about the prior rare blood moon events events?

From the original post :
In addition, the blood moon this Sukkot will occur just two weeks after the end of the current Shemitah year. This is significant because the Talmud, the most important collection of rabbinic teachings in Judaism, suggests that the the messiah will come in the year following a Shemitah year..

Ok...but 2 Peter tells us this..
…2that you should remember the words spoken beforehand by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior spoken by your apostles. 3Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, 4and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation."
This passage always humbles me whenever the topic of His coming arises...so I just keep them in the 'we'll see' file.
What about the other question? Do you have an facts that counter the reasons they give for their anticipation?

I can vaguely recall reading something about the dating of (at least some of) the blood moons being inaccurate in relation to the festivals they are being connected to but maybe Cardinal TT knows more about that.

Silly side (snide) note: All lunar eclipses include a "red flash" if they are visible through any clouds. All Jewish holidays are dated by the lunar calendar and all occur on a full moon. A full lunar eclipse only occurs during a full moon, that is part of the definition of a full lunar eclipse. Therefore, a full lunar eclipse occurs occasionally on a Jewish holiday.
It is unusual that there would be five Jewish holidays with full lunar eclipses in one holiday cycle (over a two year period). It has happened a few times in history and the timing of those has been interesting. Let's face it though, if you give me any random repeated sequence in history, I can come up with some other series of events that might be arranged or linked to that pattern. This stuff is simply not conclusive and cannot be used as a predictor of the return of Christ or the advent of the anti-christ. Those things will be evident immediately after they happen.
I won't insult the guy what I chat with him later this month. I'll listen politely and make intelligent noises when appropriate. I'll greet him warmly and smile nicely. (He may or may not be able to see my smile through my beard.)

Four blood moons in a row or an astronomical tetrad has occurred 7 times since the time of Christ, during the following years :
162-163
795-796
842-843
860-861
1493-1494
1949-1950
1967-1968
and it is occurring again in 2014-2015
Note that while the 1967 war was placed within the timeframe of the four blood moons, the 1948 formation of the nation of Israel was not, that occurred almost a full year before the first blood moon in 1949, meaning that the allegation that those coincide with each other is false. I know it is only one year, but it is still inaccurate.
The other years listed don't seem to have a strong significance in terms of historical events taking place within those time frames.

My friend who was sold out on the blood moons was ramming it down my throat so I decided to look it up on the internet and found other articles by Christians questioning the 'facts'.
I found an article that addressed those dates Colonel has put up and it revealed there was a stretchhhhhhhh to make the blood moons coincide with the majority of those dates
It soon became apparent it was not as clear cut as the blood moon advocates want it to be

I was looking at another site that went into a little more detail:
...Four TOTAL lunar eclipses occurred on the Jewish Passover and Feast of Tabernacle in1949 - 1950during the 1st Arab - Israeli War for Independence just after Israel had become a nation again for the first time in 2,000 years. It should be noted here: that even though Israel declared themselves a nation in 1948, the first permanent government took office onJanuary 25th, 1949. Israel had a transitional government in 1948. In this way the “(Tetrad) four blood moons” can tie to the year 1949 for the first elected office of that year and the birth year could still be 1948.
http://2fletchdr222.blogspot.com/201...n-tetrads.html
This is interesting too:
This upcoming Tetrad, according to these charts, is the only time there has been a total solar eclipse also in the timeframes of the tetrads. The charts above may not be complete, but it seems as though there are two extra SIGNS here that are also significant. Not only one, but TWO total solar eclipses...
The above actually falls better in line with: ACTS 2:20
The sun shall be turned into darkness,
And the moon into blood,
Before the coming of the great and awesome
Day of the Lord.
