Have you ever had the wind knocked out of your sails.....

.....because someone you love hurt you? Especially in a way you never expected?

It is gut wrenching! It hurts so badly.

But......there is a way to alleviate the pain. Humility, mercy and forgiveness.

Let them know how you feel and then be humble enough to accept the fact that you may have done/may do in the future the same thing to someone else. We're imperfect!!!!

This allows you to have mercy. This can replace the feelings of anger and bitterness that seem to swallow you up. We do love it when mercy is extended to us....

Then forgiveness falls naturally into place and you are free of the burden of anger, hatred and bitterness. It can take a while to work through it all but it will get easier.

Working through it is the hardest part. Relinquishing what you think is your "right" to be offended.

True...it's hard grasping that love relinquishes those rights..the love of the sacrifice f a life laid down for others...that is a process and situations like this are part of that process...the dying of self so that HE may live in us and through us so that others can see HIM..
