Been knowing Steve and Brenda since the early 80's - He is the person who laid hands on me to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in 1981, when he and Wellington Boone were tight and ministering together.

Steve got caught up in the "fame and fortune" that sometimes comes along with Mega Ministry, and he kicked his wife (who was his biggest supporter for over 30 years), to the curb for a younger, hot babe from Brazil - Oh, and it's true that the hot Brazilian left the kids with him and returned to Brazil.

His Church went into bankruptcy and was almost foreclosed on - Reportedly, due in part, because he spent Church funds on "personal trips, clothes, etc.

Brenda is doing OK, but was terribly traumatized by the whole, ugly, public humiliation - I heard she almost had a nervous breakdown behind his shenanigans.

I've also known Raymond and Yvonne Luster since the 80's - Haven't seen them in ages - They've always been lovely people of integrity.

The other pastor from Richmond in the Trump Meeting was Orrin Pullings, United Nations Church International, whose wife (Medina) is related (a cousin, I think) to Juanita Bynum - She is a frequent guest speaker on Rod Parsley's program on The Word Network.

He has an amazing testimony of how the Lord brought him back and healed him from a severe stroke in 2011.

Don't know if Steve is "thriving." Heard he was "on sabbatical" from RCC until the legal matters were all settled.

Hubby and I were out to dinner a few months ago, and we saw him sitting (alone) at the bar at a local restaurant.

The whole fiasco broke my heart!

Just saw this posted on FB..I've never heard of this pastor Parson, but Roland Martin has him on the hot seat, seemingly...

    http://thegrio.com/2015/12/02/roland...nt-heard-jack/

When asked about what Trump discussed as it relates to education, jobs, housing, and social activism/change, Dr. Parson's vague and painfully obvious evasive "answers" incited Martin to spew fact after fact tearing into the pastor's logic for attending the event.

"I haven't heard jack that something of substanence that somebody can say 'oh I can latch on to that' and not that I am hearing that is policy oriented," shared Martin before asking Dr. Parson's if any of the details discussed would wind up as written material to be presented to the masses.

To which Dr. Parsons responded, "no he didn't say that but he said it in spirit."

Well Martin clearly wasn't pleased with the sparse specifics about what was discussed with Trump, causing him to later declare, "Y'all have an open invitation to come on this show to talk about what was said in that meeting, but also to talk about what you're going to say in the next meeting."

"If you are going to get media attention and talk about the hype of being a Black pastor and meeting with a Republican presidential candidate — that's fine — but if you're going to go into the room, at least walk in with a sheet of paper with something on it that represents your community," said Martin.

We must have been there around the same time.
I was spirit filled in that Ministry too cant remember if it was Rev Luster Ministering or Steve Parson when that happened

In any case i would take much of the hearsay with a grain of salt . Not questioning your integrity or anything of the sort or even saying you are necessarily wrong so please don't be offended ..just urging caution

I heard him say many times when was there that his wife had had her bags packed on a number of occasions when he wasn't bringing in the bacon and they had been on the verge of the divorce . This was long before any Brazilian "Hot Thing" showed up .So I would get some more detail on what that 30 year support actually looked liked before surmising one way or the other.

Also I will add that if the church went into foreclosure it's because many members left not because he spent money on "Clothes" . Furthermore the fact that the likes of Elder Vashti (Curtis) stayed with the ministry even after the whole divorce thing said a lot . It said to me that some very solid people saw his standpoint

Per his thriving, well definitely not thriving like RCC was thriving but he is still clearly active ministerially and his Fath Alive Ministries did try to purchase cloverleaf mall a few years back for 4 million dollars http://www.styleweekly.com/richmond/...nt?oid=1380981

Yeah, the facts about the breakup of Parson's marriage are pretty much NOT in dispute. The whole sordid thing is a cautionary tale. When questioning my friend about it, she basically said it was just very simple. She said that Parsons was going "worldwide" and simply didn't do the warfare to sustain it, and became prey for a very bold enemy who knows our weaknesses. It's really no more complicated than that.

I heard that Brenda could be difficult...when I mentioned this to my friend, she rolled her eyes and said that was no excuse. I knew Vashti from waaaaaaaaay back in the day and trust me...she's probably the only one that stayed. The vast majority of the strong, stable, leaders left. The facts are not in dispute, BAP. Steve fell, he blew it, and it's sad. That's just the way it is. I don't think anyone wishes for anything but Steve's success and blessings. He sowed to the wind and reaped a whirlwind, and it's very sad.
