Why would they want them to defect for another Republican? It was for Hillary, or not vote at all to deny him the 270 needed.

I don't know if this is a joke, sarcasm, or serious.

The odds of a Democratic elector voting for Trump are as low as that of Hillary, Obama, Kamala or Pelosi voting for Trump. That's how loyal these electors are.

The odds of 20, 30 or 40 Democratic electors voting for Trump, is zilch. One would have a better chance of winning the Powerball than of that happening.
Good point. I was thinking of the scenario in which Republican state legislators select a group of Republican electors even though the popular vote in their state was won by Biden. Again, I think it's very unlikely.

I believe there were questions among some Republican electors about the fitness of Mr. Trump. If I recall, one or two actually did vote for someone other than him but I don't recall the details. Also, I think that many Democrats would have preferred Mr. Pence to Mr. Trump.

You actually had more defect against Hillary and vote for Trump, but their votes couldn't be changed due to their state laws about electors not being able to change their votes.

I'm merely asking a question. What would happen if major election fraud were to be proven only some time after the inauguration ?

At some point that will start to make sense.

In that case, impeachment would probably be the only recourse. And it would almost certainly fail to remove Biden from office, because you would need around 15-17 Democratic senators to go along with the vote to remove from office, and they would certainly refuse.

And even if it did succeed, it would simply mean Kamala becomes president, which is hardly an improvement at all; indeed, Kamala would be more liberal than Biden himself.

So - yes, when Biden is inaugurated, there is truly no more recourse.
