Of teachers James says "Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly." Teachers take the word of God already received; and accepted; and debated for centuries; and explain it to us. Yet for doing that they will be judged more strictly. And as we know two people can come up with two different things from the same verses.

On top of that we are warned about false teachers who apparently are intentional in getting it wrong.

So when we come to prophets, who claim to be saying something directly from God for now, why would God accept anything other than 100% accuracy from them now as He demanded in the OT?

Can you imagine how stable the Church would be if some of those prophets were liars?

Why don't you study the NT on this subject and then tell us how we should relate to prophets, prophecy, tongues+interpretation, words of knowledge and wisdom, the discernment of spirits, dreams, trances and visions ? Instead of behaving exactly like the last 100 heresy hunters and anti-charismatics that I talked to on an other forum ?

However as particularly I, but also anyone who's taught me on the subject has had minimal Bible training, and JMac has studied it for years, in his original employment at Grace Church studying it for several hours a day, it seems ungrateful to just dismiss him out of hand.
I'm not dismissing him out of hand. I've been in this and studied it and experienced it for 43 years myself, not to mention I have the actual experience of the BHS also. He's wrong. Period. It's Biblical, scriptural error. It's a doctrine of devils when that doctrine is trying to eradicate a whole portion of the working of God in the earth today. That's why the devil fights this doctrine so hard because it's the foundation of the power of God in the earth. It's exactly what I would do if I was the devil. It's nothing personal, I don't have anything against him as a person, he's just wrong, and teaching something that removes the present power of God from the body.

Believe it or not, today's sermon in my church was about the holy spirit, the baptism in the holy spirit, being filled by the holy spirit, and speaking in tongues.

WATCH: Famed Pastor John MacArthur, Reportedly Threatened By LA For Holding Indoor Services, Welcomes Assembly To ‘Peaceful Protest,’ Triggers Standing Ovation | The Daily Wire

Famed pastor John MacArthur, who reportedly has been threatened by the city of Los Angeles with a daily fine of $1,000 or arrest for his in-church assembly, had a blunt response on Sunday as he began conducting the service at Grace Communit Church Sun Valley, CA, MacArthur started the service by announcing, "Good morning everyone. I'm so happy to welcome you to the Grace Community Church Peaceful Protest."

That triggered a sustained standing ovation from the assembly. MacArthur followed by asking, "Are you glad to be here? Everything for us based on the word of God, right? And that means we are pro-life, pro-family, pro law-and order, and pro church of the Lord Jesus Christ."

Then MacArthur triggered another sustained ovation by announcing, " This morning we have a very special privilege: Chaplain Morehouse from the Los Angeles Police Department is going to come and lead us in our opening prayer."

After a thirty-second ovation, Morehouse began:

Good morning. As Pastor said, I am Chaplain Morehouse with the Los Angeles Police Department Chaplain Corps. I would like to share two verses of Scripture with you and then pray for the church. Psalm 91:14: Because he loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him. I will protect him. For he acknowledges My name. James 1:5: If any of you lack wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

Lord, thank You for another day to wake up and praise Your mighty name; and Lord, I ask you to please, put such a strong wall and mighty shield of protection around this church that no outside influence can harm it. I also ask that all the pastors, elders, and the whole congregation of Grace Community Church have the wisdom and the faith to weather all the things going on, in church and outside church.

The City of Los Angeles had reportedly sent a cease and desist letter to Grace Community Church and MacArthur, according to The Thomas More Society, which announced that attorneys Jenna Ellis and Charles LiMandri would represent MacArthur.

On July 24, Grace Community Church issued this statement:......

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity (futility) of their mind, having the understanding darkened...
    (Ephesians 4:17-18)

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly...
    (Psalm 1)

Pastor John MacArthur said he is 'very grateful' saying he will comply with the health orders requested by the judge

California judge rules LA church can hold indoor services | Fox News

A judge in California on Friday allowed a prominent pastor in Los Angeles to hold indoor in-person services despite Gov. Gavin Newsom's coronavirus restrictions, including banning singing in houses of worship.

Pastor John MacArthur of Grace Community Church expressed his gratitude to Superior Court Judge James C. Chalfant whose order requires congregants wear masks and practice social distancing.

"I am very grateful the court has allowed us to meet inside and we are happy for a few weeks to comply and respect what the judge has asked of us because he is allowing is to meet," MacAruther said in a statement. "This vindicates our desire to stay open and serve our people. This also gives us an opportunity to show that we are not trying to be rebellious or unreasonable, but that we will stand firm to protect our church against unreasonable, unconstitutional restrictions."...

'We're Having Church': John MacArthur's Church Continues Worship After Court Upholds Ban On Indoor Services | The Daily Wire

Grace Community Church and its senior pastor John MacArthur continued indoor services Sunday even after the California Court of Appeal struck down a lower court ruling that would have allowed the church to gather indoors with masks and social distancing....

...According to a Saturday night press release from the Los Angeles County COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center, "The California Court of Appeal today set aside a lower court order that would have allowed indoor services to take place at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley. The Court of Appeal's decision temporarily upholds the County's Health Officer Orders prohibiting indoor worship services in order to protect congregants and the community as a whole from transmission of the highly contagious and potentially fatal COVID-19 virus."

Los Angeles County issued the following statement of the Appellate Court's ruling:.....

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity (futility) of their mind, having the understanding darkened...
    (Ephesians 4:17-18)
