Mueller report summary released, showing no proof Trump team conspired with Russia

Attorney General William Barr on Sunday released the "principal conclusions" of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's completed Russia probe in a bombshell four-page letter to Capitol Hill lawmakers, which stated definitively that Mueller did not establish evidence that President Trump's team or any associates of the Trump campaign had conspired with Russia to sway the 2016 election -- "despite multiple offers from Russian-affiliated individuals to assist the Trump campaign."

For Trump, who has tweeted more than 230 times that he did not collude with Russians amid a torrent of allegations from media and political figures, the moment amounted to a near-total vindication. Although Mueller noted that his report was not an "exoneration" of Trump on obstruction, Barr wrote, the "report does not recommend any further indictments, nor did the Special Counsel obtain any sealed indictments that have yet to be made public."

Mueller's team specifically looked into two Russian efforts to interfere with the 2016 election -- first, the work by a Russian organization, the Internet Research Agency (IRA), to "conduct disinformation and social media operations" designed to "sow discord" in the United States.

Aaccording to Barr's letter, "The special counsel's investigation did not find that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russia in its effort" to interfere with the 2016 presidential election in that manner.

Next, Mueller investigated whether the Trump team was involved in the hacking of emails, many of which were released publicly, that belonged to the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC).

"The Special Counsel did not find that any U.S. person or Trump campaign official or associate conspired or knowingly coordinated" with Russians who worked on those hacking efforts, according to Barr's letter, "despite multiple offers from Russian-affiliated individuals to assist the Trump campaign."

Mueller's report did not reach a conclusion on whether the Trump campaign obstructed justice, and left that decision to Barr and officials at the DOJ. But Mueller "recognized," according to Barr's letter, that the lack of evidence that Trump was involved in collusion would undercut any obstruction case -- which would depend on showing a corrupt intent by the president.

The Special Counsel therefore did not draw a conclusion - one way or the other - as to whether the examined conduct constituted obstruction," according to Barr's letter. "Instead, for each of the relevant actions investigated, the report sets out evidence on both sides of the question and leaves unresolved what the Special Counsel views as 'difficult issues' of law and fact concerning whether the President's actions and intent could be viewed as obstruction."

Barr'rs letter concluded: "After reviewing the Special Counsel's final report on these issues... Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and I have concluded that the evidence developed during the Special Counsel's investigation is not sufficient to establish that the President committed an obstruction-of-justice offense."

"Our determination was made without regard to, and is not based on, the constitutional considerations that surround the indictment and criminal prosecution of a sitting president," Barr stated.

Barr said Mueller's team had "thoroughly" investigated allegations that Trump's team sought to conspire with Russians or obstruct investigators. Mueller said he employed 19 lawyers and approximately 40 FBI agents, executing hundreds of search warrants, 10 pen registers, and interviewed approximately 500 witnesses...

Barr's disclosure was a capstone moment following the 22-month investigation that ensnared six former Trump advisers and associates -- but resulted in no indictments related to collusion with Russia.

White House Director of Social Media Dan Scavino was the first to react to the news, tweeting: "As we already knew, NO COLLUSION! Nothing different from what President @realDonaldTrump has been saying for the past TWO YEARS!!!"

The letter promised to settle some of the largest outstanding questions of the Mueller investigation, even as Democrats on Sunday vowed to press on with other investigations, and members of both parties continued to push for the public release of as much of the Mueller report as possible.

In response to Barr's letter, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., wrote on Twitter: "Seems like the Department of Justice is putting matters squarely in Congress' court."

Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said Sunday that he believed there remained "significant evidence of collusion" linking the Russian government with President Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. Schiff said Democrats might subpoena Mueller if the full report is not released.

Nadler, speaking to "Fox News Sunday," insisted, "So we know a lot of things and maybe it's not indictable, but we know there was collusion. The question is the degree."

    And of course:

"While this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him,"

Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said Sunday that he believed there remained “significant evidence of collusion” linking the Russian government with President Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. Schiff said Democrats might subpoena Mueller if the full report is not released.

They aren't going to let it go. If this had been an investigation of a Democrat they would have accepted the conclusion as final authority. Republicans can't win. If this had been reversed and it had been Obama or a Democrat being investigated like this the Dems, liberals, and press would have been screaming like stuck pigs the whole time how this was a witch hunt. The problem the Republicans have is they don't have the press on their side to keep it in the forefront 24 hours a day.

End of Mueller probe won’t satisfy Democrats or Never-Trumpers

Here’s what we know for certain about the Mueller report: no matter what it contains, opposition to President Trump will continue full stop. Trump Derangement Syndrome will continue to fuel resistance not only from Democrats but also from conservative Never-Trumpers. Animosity from the former group is expected; from the latter, it is unforgiveable...

Nothing will satisfy them. They will continue resisting, wasting Trump’s time and energy. They cant stop this train and they cant get off it. That simply enrages them.

    They really won't like this:

Lindsay Grahm is saying that he is going to push for a special counsel to look into a few things too!

And they'll squeal like stuck pigs, call it retribution, etc, etc. The Dems have the press on their side. They'll be doing it right along with them.

So the Stormy Daniels lawyer who also helped bring forth the accusations against Cavanaugh and many other slimy things has been charged with trying to extort and shake down NIKE for 20 million and has been arrested. So...

Cavanaugh is on the Supreme Court, Avenetti is in jail, Stormy has to pay Trump $293k in legal fees after her defamation suit was dismissed, and there is no collusion.

Sounds like something is going on in the 'supernatural vindication' world. Or at least justice is playing itself out in regard to the innocent.

One other point as I was watching some of the news stuff today about the President being exonerated. The Obama administration new Russians were trying to interfere in our government during the Obama administration but did nothing about it. And that means it was still the Obama administration that was responsible for policing this during the election since they were the administration at the time. Obama's own opinion at the time, and there is a video saying this somewhere along the line while he was still president but he basically poo-pooed Russian involvement, basically not believing it. So when Trump got elected, all of a sudden it became important and they tried to take him down with it.

They're blatant hypocrisy and double standard is downright evil, because they are trying to use it to bring down an administration simply because they didn't think it would win and can't handle the loss. Maybe one of these days everyone will really see through this.

Now, some of the Dems, who are the ones that handpicked Mueller, are saying he's part of a grand conspiracy cover up. You just can't make this stuff up.

Oh, and by the way, the sleazy lawyer Michael Avenatti is a paid analyst for CNN. They had him on over 60 times in the last few months. One of his associates who was also a CNN legal analyst was indicted too. Carlson Tucker showed several clips of CNN talking heads praising him for what he was doing in regards to Trump and some of the Dems even wanted him to run for president.

Both sides refer to conspiracies a lot to explain why things didn't go their way. Recall Trump's reaction to the correct death toll after the hurricane disaster on Puerto Rico.
